The incident, which occurred on July 17, 2025, was detailed in federal court documents. Nikprelaj's behavior was described as "unruly" during the boarding phase, and he continued to cause disruption as the flight ascended. Despite the "sterile period" when nonemergency communication is prohibited, the flight crew attempted to contact him.
As the plane reached 10,000 feet, the captain was informed that Nikprelaj had left his seat and showed disrespect to two flight attendants. But the drama didn't end there. Nikprelaj tried to move towards the front of the plane, but VanderWaarden blocked his path, leading to a physical confrontation.
