A man has been arrested after armed police were dispatched to a stabbing incident in Paisley. Emergency crews, including firearms officers, were alerted to a report of a seriously injured man at a property on Blackstoun Road, close to Glencoats and St Fergus’ primary schools, around 7:05 pm on Monday.
The injured man, aged 66, was transported to hospital with serious injuries that are consistent with a stabbing. His condition has been described as stable.
Shortly after, authorities traced a second man, aged 67, to a property in the Westwood Gardens area and he was apprehended. Police say there are ongoing inquiries into the incident.
Chief Inspector Iain Farmer commented: “I understand this incident has caused concern in the community, but I want to reassure residents that there was no threat to the wider public and that investigators are treating this as a targeted incident.
“I want to thank the public for their patience and cooperation while we carried out our response.”
